AC Milan’s extra weapon in attack
In just a few minutes against Sampdoria and Genoa Andrea Conti has proved to be precisely what AC Milan lack: an extra weapon in attack.
AC Milan win and convince. The Rossoneri suffer against a good Genoa but slowly take territorial dominance and finalize their best opportunities. Gennaro Gattuso’s eleven, today led by his deputy Gigi Riccio, achieved victory thanks to a good team performance in general but especially due to the decisive goals of Fabio Borini and Jesus Suso, both in the second half. But in the first goal there is once again the hand of a player who is now an extra weapon for the Rossoneri in attack
Right-back Andrea Conti was one of the best players in Genoa-Milan. The 24 year old Italian entered the match in the 14-th minute to replace the injured Cristian Zapata and was able to immediately adapt to the game’s high tempo. He suffered a bit in the first 45 minutes like all his teammates but in second half Conti was simply unstoppable and always dangerous in the opponent’s area.
In fact, his assist for Fabio Borini helped Milan take the lead. A winning assist just like the one performed again in Genoa a few days ago in the Italian Cup against Sampdoria. In that case it was a long pinpoint cross for Patrick Cutrone. Even in that match AC Milan won 2-0.
Andrea Conti
Andrea Conti is returning to high levels, both technical and athletic, and this is just the beginning. The perfect revenge for the 24-year-old who after a year and a half spent between hospitals and gym is finally showcasing his qualities and personality. Today’s match marked Conti’s first assist in Serie A after 646 days. His last in the league was in Roma-Atalanta 1-1 of 15 April 2017.
